Subject: [Bug 75661] New: acpi-cpufreq cannot use lowest reported P-state
Date: Wed, 07 May 2014 16:15:54 +0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <bug-75661-12968@https.bugzilla.kernel.org/> (raw)

https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75661

            Bug ID: 75661
Summary: acpi-cpufreq cannot use lowest reported P-state
           Product: Power Management
           Version: 2.5
    Kernel Version: 3.14.2
          Hardware: x86-64
                OS: Linux
              Tree: Mainline
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P1
         Component: cpufreq
          Assignee: cpufreq@vger.kernel.org
          Reporter: runningskittle@gmail.com
        Regression: No

CPU: AMD A8-4500M
cpupower reports 900Mhz is lowest P-state frequency. However available
frequency for governor only 1.4ghz - 1.9ghz.

analyzing CPU 0:
  driver: acpi-cpufreq
CPUs which run at the same hardware frequency: 0
CPUs which need to have their frequency coordinated by software: 0
  maximum transition latency: 4.0 us.
  hardware limits: 1.40 GHz - 1.90 GHz
available frequency steps: 1.90 GHz, 1.80 GHz, 1.70 GHz, 1.60 GHz, 1.40 GHz
  available cpufreq governors: ondemand, performance
current policy: frequency should be within 1.40 GHz and 1.90 GHz.
The governor "ondemand" may decide which speed to use
                  within this range.
current CPU frequency is 1.40 GHz (asserted by call to hardware).
