Try using /usr/bin/setterm to set the foreground color to a nice
bright colour like light green, bright blue, yellow or something
similar.

(I hack my bash prompt so that it displays in color and leaves text
a nice bright green. It makes itery readable, especially to pick
the output of commands between each prompt).

Cheers
Tony
