Subject: nmi-watchdog not working on S2466
Date: Thu, 28 Oct 2004 22:35:54 +0200	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20041028203554.GA28801@sommrey.de> (raw)

Hi,

does anybody ever got the nmi-watchdog working on a Tyan Tiger MPX S2466?
My problems are:
- booting nmi_watchdog=1 results in an error "nmi appears to be stuck"
- booting nmi_watchdog=2 is ok, gives an NMI count in /proc/interrupts
  but is otherwise non-functional. Doing
  	iopl(3);while (1) asm("cli");
  locks the machine forever (not really: just another watchdog hits
  after some time)

I used several 2.6.x-kernels - vanilla and -mm - all with the same
results. Any ideas? What information is needed to track the problem?
