On FreeBSD 9.0, "wc -l" emits leading whitespace, so
filter it through tr -d '[:space:]' to eliminate it.

This doesn't use Rainbows::Base so we have no keepalive support
at all. This could eventually be an option for streaming
applications.

Make sure app errors get logged correctly, and we no longer
return a 500 response when a client EOFs the write end (but not
the read end) of a connection.

This will make it easier to enable and manage tests for new
concurrency models.
